Celtic Sea Trout Programme Celtic Sea Trout Programme
DAFF is asking for keen sea trout anglers to provide a valuable contribution to an EU-funded project investigating the status of sea trout stocks. The project is targeting rivers and coastal waters of the Irish Sea and anglers are being asked to collect scale samples from any sea trout caught in the rivers Sulby and Neb during this season and the following two years. Full details of how to collect scales, and sampling packs are available from Karen McHarg at DAFF (686044 or karen.mcharg@gov.im) who can also provide more information on the project. If you are sea trout angling this year, please help out with this important project. |

Round 16 - Venue Change! Venue Changed for 5/10/2003.
The venue for Round 16, has been moved to SULBY and will start run fom 2:30pm to 5:30pm. This is due to the low water conditions and serious mud at the other reservoirs. That last competition will also be changed to Sulby. |
|
| 21/09/2003 |
Possible Venue Changes. Please note that the remaining competitions for this season might require a change of venue, due to the very low water conditions in Clypse and Kerrowdhoo. Any changes will be reported here, and regular members will be called. |

|
| 08/04/2002 |
Injebreck Stocked The pH (water acidity) levels at Injebreck are okay and as a result it is now being stocked. |

Work Finished at Clypse and Kerrowdhoo Work on Kerrowdhoo will be completed soon. It is expected to start filling again on the 19th April. At the same time the water levels at Clypse will be dropped for further work. Stocking of Kerrowdhoo will be dependant upon how long it takes to fill. |
|
| 10/03/2002 |
2002 Fishing Restrictions Following is the latest news on our reservoirs. As soon as I have more information, or the accuracy of this information changes, I will update this page.
Clypse and Kerrowdhoo:
- From late April to November the water levels will be maintained 3 to 4 metres below normal levels.
- Access to the dam walls of both Clypse and Kerrowdhoo might not be possible.
- Kerrowdhoo will remain empty until Easter.
- No access will be allowed during working hours. (8am to 6pm Mon-Fri, 8am to 2pm Saturday)
- Machinery will be left in the main Clypse car park, so space for parking might be an issue.
Injebreck (West Baldwin):
- Work is due to start soon on the dam wall.
- Water levels will be lowered 3 or 4 feet while the work continues.
- Work will continue until October.
Sulby:
- Work is scheduled on the wave break on top of the dam wall.
- Access to the dam wall and the far side from the main car park will not be possible.

All Moved to Injebreck It has been reported that they have stopped stocking Clypse and Kerrowdhoo. All competitions will be held at Injebreck for the rest of the season. Unless Sulby opens.....but I can't see that happening, can you? |
|
| 12/08/2001 |
Clypse and Kerrowdhoo Empty? There is a possibility that Clypse and Kerrowdhoo will be closing. This is due to the Water Board deciding to drain them to carry out yet more repairs. If this proves to be true then all competitions will be at Injebreck. Unfortunatly I will be on holiday for the next competition and so will not be able to confirm this rumour. Please contact The Roland Westcott Tackle Company for updates. |
|
| 09/07/2001 |
Injebreck Water Levels Water levels at Injebreck have fallen enough so the next scheduled competition can be held, as planned, at Injebreck. Sulby is still closed, so all Sulby specified competitions will be held at Clypse and Kerrowdhoo. |
|
| 21/05/2001 |
New Competition Schedule The first competion went really well. We will now be following the dates as sent out to all members at the start of the season. However, all competitions will be at Clypse and Kerrowdhoo until all the foot and mouth restrictions are lifted. |
|
| 04/05/2001 |
Season Opens! The season will finally be opening on the 5/5/2001. The following reservoirs will be available for fishing.
- Clypse and Kerrowdhoo
- Injebreck, West Baldwin (Road side bank and dam wall only.)
- Cringle
- Ballure
All other water will remain closed. River fishing is still not allowed. |
|
| 04/05/2001 |
First Competitiom Cancellation Unfortunatly the competition scheduled for the 13/5/2001 will still have to be cancelled, on the recomendation of John Ballard (Fisheries Manager), who belives that the reservoirs will be too busy to accomodate a competition so soon after opening.
An EXTRA competition will be scheduled for 20/5/2001 to make up the number of competitions we can fish in the season. This will be on Clypse & Kerrowdhoo between 2pm and 5pm. I look forward to seeing you all there.
All competitions will be at Clypse & Kerrowdhoo until futher notice. |
